Bathroom Vanity Organization Ideas

Hey everyone! In today's post I'm sharing with you some of my favorite organization for the Bathroom Vanity. I know this area can sometimes be hard to deal with and products end up all over the place. I'm going to share two specific pieces that have really been game changers for me in this area.

First is the turn table, spinning carousel, lazy susan, whatever you would like to call it. GET ONE! This has been great at containing all of my hair products. Some I use everyday and others just once in a while depending on what I'm doing to my hair. I used to have these products in a plastic bin and that just wasn't working any longer. This way I can see everything I have and it's easy to spin it around to get to each product.

I use these all over my house - the pantry for spices and oils, my makeup vanity area for foundations, you name it. It just made sense to try it with hair products.

Next would be this two tiered sliding shelf. They come in a few different sizes but this works great for housing smaller bottles. As you can see here, I use the bottom half for my self tanners and lotions. The top half is for my most-reached for products and those items I may need once in a while but don't want to lose track of.

Here is an overview of my side of the vanity. My Husband and I have separate sides. This helps me to be able to spread out all of my products. Luckily, this space is nice and wide. If I were dealing with a more narrow space, I'd utilize more vertical space and use a two-tiered turn table along with more of the pull out shelves.

I go through everything in a little more detail in my video. The turn table and wire pull out shelf came from Bed Bath Beyond. Target also carries the turn tables but I don't find them to spin as easily. BBB also has more sizes.

Spring Dining Table

Hi everyone! I'm bringing you a little spring today. Not sure about where you live, but I could use all I can get. Not to talk weather too much, but it's not been a typical spring here in the South. So I decided to change that with some pretty new decor for my dining table. I love simple and easy decor. Take something as simple as a mason jar and jazz it up with spring flowers and it totally brightens up a space.

I actually bought these Ball Mason Jars back in December. I knew they were the LE Heritage Collection celebrating 100 years of Ball and I didn't want to miss out. I found mine at Target when I bought the small jars for my Crockpot Apple Butter. I just saw them at Publix the other day. I'm sure you can also find them at Amazon because that's where I had to buy my new GREEN jars. Yep, I loved the blue so much that I bought the green, too. {I'm planning on using those in the summer with white or coral flowers}

As you can see, I didn't change out my decor from Christmas. I knew I would probably keep the mosaic vases, candlesticks and linen runner up all year-round. {yes, it's linen and pretty much stays wrinkled no matter how much steaming or ironing} You can see more of that decor in this post. I may still add some white plates or a colored charger on top of the brown, but I actually like the simplicity of just adding the jars with flowers. The blue really pops! I added the light pink peonies because they are my favorite flower in pretty much any color, but love them with the light blue jars.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope this inspired you to use everyday items such as Mason Jars to decorate with. :)

NEW Makeup Vanity and Organization

Hey everyone! Today I'm finally sharing my NEW vanity space. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may recall that I was getting a new vanity. I've been looking at inspiration all over the internet for months. I just really wanted something nice since I was moving back in to our master bedroom. And even though it's a girly space, I didn't want too much product out since it's a shared area with my husband. {I don't like the master to be too girly anyway}

I couldn't get the original desk and side glass units I wanted {due to really high s/h} so I ended up with this desk. It's much bigger than my previous one, which was several years old and I had outgrown. I love the white, clean look of it and it's really quite large.

I'm also still utilizing my Muji drawers. I just really love the acrylic look of them and they are actually quite useful for me. I'm a out-of-site-out-of-mind kinda gal. So after my big Makeup Purge, I needed to re-organize my makeup to make it work for this new space.

I explain and show more in the video but you can see a breakdown of all the organizational pieces and decor I used to get this look and function.

Product Updates

Hi everyone! I thought I'd share with you some updates on recent products. If you're not familiar with Product Updates, it's where I give an update on a product that I've shown in a haul, or on Instagram, or maybe I've never mentioned it. Basically lets you know whether I liked it or didn't and why. If you'd like to see more like this, please visit the Product Updates Playlist on my channel.

I touch on quite a few products this time. Mostly from the past month or two. I did return a few items from an Ulta Instahaul in the picture above. One is a repeat purchase - the Kinerase Eye Cream. I've really enjoyed this product. I starting using it last year around this time. It does a great job of moisturizing but not irritating my sensitive eyes and isn't over-priced. If you're looking for a great eye cream, I highly recommend this one!

Let me know if you've tried any of the products I mention in the video and what you thought of them. :)

Makeup Purge

Hey everyone! Well, every year around this time I tend to go through my makeup and beauty items and purge some things. That way I sell or donate items I'm not using and it lets me better see what I have and will actually use. This year I decided to be pretty brutal! No messing around, just clear out what's old, not used, not liked.

The above picture shows the first start of the purge where I basically cleared out my vanity drawers. This happened for a few reasons: one being that I moved my vanity back into our master bedroom from a spare bedroom. Also, I needed to get more space for storing the makeup that I actually like and use. I basically made two piles - one for tossing in the garbage (too old or shouldn't be shared), the other for donating. {I do always keep that blue bag and occasionally toss things in there that I'll sell on a Blog Sale or give away.}

Well, that worked so well that I started on my main makeup drawers while I was still in brutal "get rid of it" mode. I keep the majority of my makeup in these clear acrylic drawers from MUJI. I've had them for several years and really like them. They are actually several put together in the configuration I like/need. {I have about 4-5 separate drawer systems.}As you can see by the above picture, I was left with several empty drawers after the clean out.

Some things I got rid of were old lip glosses. I was holding on to SO many! Really, gloss is one of those products that shouldn't be around for more than a year because bacteria can grow. I'm still keeping way too many but it was a good start. Another thing I do is hold on to makeup for reference. Being a Beauty Blogger, I always feel the need to reference a color or formula when reviewing another product. Well, this has to stop! I'm really going to try and NOT do this going forward.

Have I mentioned clutter makes me physically uneasy? It does. Too much of anything or messes drive me a little nuts. I believe in controlled chaos, lol. ;)

Here's a video where I show more about what and why I'm getting rid of certain things. I've loved hearing from so many of you saying that this encouraged you to purge some things you're holding on to. :)

If you feel this is too overwhelming, start small. Maybe with just categories like lipsticks, then glosses, then move on to face, eyes, etc. Happy Purging!
